Opening of the TEUPE Gerüstbau AG branch in Switzerland

In January 2014, the TEUPE Group opened a branch in Switzerland, with the aim of establishing TEUPE Gerüstbau AG, based in Sursee, in Switzerland in the long term. Already in the first year, approximately 30 employees will work for the company in Switzerland.

The first construction project in Switzerland in which TEUPE Gerüstbau AG is carrying out the scaffolding work is the new construction of the Les Stades de Bienne sports stadiums in Biel.

Biel-Bienne is nestled in the Bernese Lake District at the foot of the Jura Mountains on beautiful Lake Biel in the canton of Bern. Biel-Bienne also marks the German-French language border in Switzerland. Les Stades de Bienne is planned as a multifunctional complex with a soccer and ice hockey stadium, an additional ice hockey field, a curling hall, four soccer training grounds, as well as a shopping center and a parking garage.

Construction period 2013 - 2015

The ambitious schedule with a construction period of approximately two years (start of construction in 2013) can probably be met thanks to the commitment of all parties involved and the construction can be handed over on schedule. Completion or opening is planned for fall 2015.

The construction of the building complex is made of reinforced concrete and steel. The cube has a total dimension of 350 m in length, 80 m in width and 20 m in height. After completion, the structure will be visible from afar when entering the city and will give a dominant landmark.

Scaffolding material

Teupe Gerüstbau AG was commissioned with the execution, assembly and provision of all scaffolding work. Approximately 6,000 m² of area scaffolding and 60,000 m² of protective and working scaffolding were erected for the construction project. A total of approx. 1,500 t of scaffolding material was used.
